The Culinary Institute needed to replace their refrigerated prep cabinets and update their cafe. But the new cabinets and cafe work had to match the kitchen’s existing design aesthetic, which was created by a high-end international design firm.
Undaunted by the high-level expectations on this project, we were able to fabricate and install the mammoth 13-foot-long refrigerated prep cabinets without a problem. We also created customized curved cabinetry with integrated refrigeration for the front counter of the cafe – a first-of-its-kind creation. And not only were we able to match the quality, caliber and vision of the kitchen’s original design firm, we did it at 1/3 of the cost.

Client testimonial
Dear Richard,
As a commercial contractor for over 30 years, I attribute my success to having a team of vendors that contribute to the completion of a well-executed job. I have done several jobs for the Culinary Institute of America acting as a general contractor and the Director of Facilities. West Star Industries has been among those vendors I call “the go-to guys.” Being a commercial kitchen contractor has many challenges; stainless steel fixtures can make or break a job. I have used West Star Industries for over 20 years on various jobs; many of them have required custom cabinetry. The costs have ranged from one hundred thousand dollars to over a million.
West Star Industries’ expertise with on-site planning, drawings and then delivery of a quality product was far above my high expectations. Their personnel are well trained and take pride in their work. Many of my jobs were custom work, creating some unique challenges, many of which had never before been done. West Star Industries embraced these challenges and always came through. Their pricing was well in line and delivery was always on time. I have personally visited their factory in Stockton, California many times, and am pleased at how well equipped and happy their employees are. I highly recommend West Star Industries for any for stainless products in your commercial kitchen.
